My friend, Lydia Phillip messaged me in April to create a cover photo for an article titled “Maple Flavoured Mass Incarceration”. There are so many amazing things I can say about Lydia, but her passion as an intersectional feminist and her work to empower marginalized communities is the most important. I met Lydia through our mutual love of flying and instruction, and she is both kind and a badass.
My ask is you take a minute to read the above article about prison issues happening in our country. This is not an issue found only in America. Please do not choose to remain willfully blind to an issue that is impacting people of colour in Canada. Specifically Indigenous and Black communities.

On December 20th 2019 I was paid for my first piece of artwork in years. Starting over is hard. Beginning is hard. It probably took longer then it should have to get back here, but I’m proud of myself and it was the first step in this marathon. It also took all night to finish and there are a thousand things I could have done better. I’m also super proud of the fact that I charged somebody. I have a horrible habit of giving everything away for free.
